You must meet the following prerequisites before you can get started using the full functionalities of the NSX Network Detection and Response application.
Get familiar with the main objective of NSX Network Detection and Response and understand its activation and usage workflow.
See Getting Started with NSX Network Detection and Response.
Activate the NSX Network Detection and Response application on the NSX Application Platform.
Ensure you have an NSX-T role that is authorized to use the NSX Network Detection and Response feature.
To access all the NSX Network Detection and Response functionalities, the user account you are using during your NSX Manager session must be assigned one of the following NSX-T built-in roles. See Role-Based Access Control for more information.
- Enterprise Admin
- Security Admin
- Security Operator
- Auditor (Read-only access)
- Ensure that your NSX-T Data Center environment is connected to the Internet. NSX Network Detection and Response is not supported in air-gapped environments when there is no outbound Internet access from the Kubernetes cluster pods and the NSX-T Data Center Unified Appliance.
