To update an existing custom signature bundle, export it to your system, and then re-upload the modified bundle.

If you have previously uploaded a signature bundle, all signatures part of that bundle will be replaced by the new bundle you are about to upload. The UI shows the number of new signatures that are being added, the numbers of signatures deleted and the number of existing signatures.

To prevent the loss of unpublished signatures, first export the existing bundle to your computer, update it with the new signatures, and then upload the revised bundle.

Procedure

  1. From the NSX Manager go to the Security > IDS/IPS & Malware Prevention (under Policy Management section).
  2. On the IDS/IPS & Malware Prevention page, go to the Signature Management tab and select Custom Signatures.
  3. From the Export drop-down menu, choose from All Signatures or Valid signatures.
  4. Based on the export selection, a .zip file is downloaded to your computer.
    Note:

Unzip the file, edit the text file that is extracted, either with new signatures or update an existing signature in the bundle, and re-zip the file. Upload the new .zip file.
