You must configure the vSphere distributed port groups to route to Tanzu Kubernetes.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the vSphere Client with admin privileges.
  2. From the Networking menu, select your data center.
  3. Select New Distributed Port Group to configure the Management network.
    Option Description
    Name and location Assign the Management network name.
    Location Select the VDS networking to support Tanzu Kubernetes.
    Configure settings

    Set the VLAN network for the Management network. Ensure that this VLAN network is routable to the Frontend and Workload networks.

    Ready to complete Review the distributed port group details and click Finish.
  4. Select New Distributed Port Group to configure the Frontend network.
    Option Description
    Name and location Assign the Frontend network name.
    Location Select the VDS networking to support Tanzu Kubernetes.
    Configure settings Set the VLAN network for the Frontend network. Ensure that this VLAN network is routable to the Management and Workload networks.
    Ready to complete Review the distributed port group details and click Finish.
  5. Select New Distributed Port Group to configure the Workload network.
    Option Description
    Name and location Assign the Workload network name.
    Location Select the VDS networking to support Tanzu Kubernetes.
    Configure settings

    Set the VLAN network for the Workload network. Ensure that this VLAN network is routable to the Frontend and Management networks.

    Ready to complete Review the distributed port group details and click Finish.
