The Client Connectors in this design have different roles depending on their point in the network.

Despite their different uses (e.g., data export vs. remote access), Client Connectors allow you to connect to resources without installing the SD-WAN Client software directly on the target. They provide the flexibility to specify IP addresses, domains, or FQDNs. Any user or device assigned to a network with a Client Connector can access the resources behind it, provided the access complies with Rules and Contexts.

  1. The first connector advertises a range of IP addresses into the fabric for reachability. Its group membership is assigned to the Cloud Analytics Connectors group, which can be referenced in a network. This setup will attract all IP traffic destined for the 10.67.0.0/16 network.
  2. The second connector is more targeted. It only advertises two specific host IP addresses that are in the factory. While the previous connector is more simply configured, the more granular use of IP addresses in the connector allows you to be more targeted in network policy and distribute load across more connectors.
