You may forget the passphrase for Scheduler of VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics and want to set the new one.

Prerequisites

  1. Verify that you have a root user credential for the VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics Appliance.

  2. Verify that you have a shd-admin user credential for the VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics Appliance.

Procedure

  1. SSH to VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics Appliance.
  2. Log in using the root user.
  3. Run the command shd-config credmanager
  4. Provide shd-admin credentials as requested.
  5. If you forgot the ealier passphrase and you want to set a new passphrase key. Enter the appropriate serial noumber on the promt line for Re-Initialize the Credential Store option,
  6. Enter the new passphrase you want to set.
  7. Confirm the new passphrase you want to set.
  8. Restart the shd service using command systemctl restart vmware-shd.

Results

The new passphrase set for the Scheduler of the Skyline Health Diagnostics Appliance.

What to do next

You must delete the old schedulers and re-create them. You will not be able to view the report of the earlier scheduled runs. VIEW REPORT button will be deactivated. This is expected behavior as system does not have the old passphrase and it can not decode the data of the previous executions.
