You may want to remove a registered vSphere instance from VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics, this will also remove the VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics client plug-in from VMware vCenter server.

As an operator, you might want to remove the registered vSphere instance from VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics if its plug-in stop working or you no longer want to use the VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics client plug-in in vSphere client.

Prerequisites

  1. You should have already registered the vSphere instance to VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics.

  2. You should have valid vSphere SSO admin credentials.

  3. You should have valid shd-admin credentials, with VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics. Only shd-admin user can remove the registered vCenter server.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics UI using the supported browser.
  2. In the top-menu, click Settings > vSphere Plugin Registration .

    vSphere Plug-in Management appears.

  3. Select the vCenter server and click the Delete icon, it should open a form.

  4. Enter the VMware vCenter Server Appliance SSO admin username in the User name.
  5. Enter the VMware vCenter Server Appliance SSO admin password in the Password.
  6. Click DELETE. It validates the credential by performing a login to the given VMware vCenter Appliance Server and deleted VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics plugin from the vCenter client.
    • If the deletion of plug-in is successful, the pop-up closes and you see the SHD Extension removed on vCenter Server: xx.xx.xx.xx message.

    • If the error is observed while the removal of vCenter, the Delete vSphere Plug-in pop won't close, and corresponding error message is displayed on its top.

  7. To check the VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics plug-in from vSphere Client, login to vSphere Client UI using SSO Administrator credentials and navigate to Menu, Skyline Health Diagnostics plugin should not be displayed.

Results

Removal of vSphere into VMware Skyline Health Diagnostics is successful, and the client plug-in of Skyline Health Diagnostics should not be visible into vSphere client.
