Configure the Entitlement Accounts associated with your Cloud Services Organization.

For the purposes of Skyline, your Entitlement Account determines the following within Skyline Advisor:

  1. The features and functionality available to you within Skyline Advisor. Skyline is available to customers with an active Success 360, Production, and/or Premier Support contract, the service is tiered-based upon your Support Entitlement Level. See KB Article 79286 for details regarding Skyline Advisor Support Entitlement Modes.

  2. The Support Requests visible within Skyline Advisor. All Support Requests are opened under an Entitlement Account. Support Requests are only visible within Skyline Advisor if the Entitlement Account is linked with the Cloud Services Organization.

Prerequisites

The ability to modify Entitlement Account association with the Cloud Services Organization is only available to individuals who have been assigned the Skyline Administrator service role.

To modify your Skyline Advisor service role access, use Identity and Access Management within VMware Cloud Services.

Procedure

  1. In Skyline Advisor, click Settings.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. There are two actions available for Entitlement Accounts, Link and Unlink. A description of each action is below.

Support Requests that you have opened under the EA are not be visible within Skyline Advisor. You cannot use Log Assist to transfer support bundles to VMware needed for these Support Requests.

Results

The Entitlement Account is either associated, or disassociated, to/from your Cloud Services Organization.

Important:

If you unlink an Entitlement Account that is not associated with your My VMware account, you cannot link the Entitlement Account after unlinking it. Upon unlink, the Entitlement Account will disappear from your view. Only an individual with the Entitlement Account associated with their My VMware account can Link the Entitlement Account to your Cloud Services Organization.
