There are two service roles, Skyline Administrator and Skyline User.

Use Identity & Access Management within VMware Cloud Services to assign a service role to a user.

Privileges

Skyline Administrator

A Skyline Administrator has privileges to complete the following:

  • Add a Skyline Collector to the Cloud Services Organization.

  • DeRegister an Inactive Skyline Collector from the Cloud Services Organization.

  • Receive email notification when the Skyline Collector root password is about to expire.

  • Receive email notification when the Skyline Collector health status changes to an unhealthy status.

  • Receive email notification when the Skyline Collector requires an upgrade.

  • Opt-In or Opt-Out to sharing data relating to Secure Connect Gateway.

  • Link, or Unlink, Entitlement Accounts to/from the Cloud Services Organization.

  • Enable View Support Requests Raised by Team Members.

Skyline User

A Skyline User cannot complete any of the actions listed within the Skyline Administrator service role.

Explicity, a Skyline User cannot:

  • Add a Skyline Collector to the Cloud Services Organization.

  • DeRegister an Inactive Skyline Collector from the Cloud Services Organization.

  • Receive email notification when the Skyline Collector root Password is about to expire.

  • Receive email notification when the Skyline Collector health status changes to an unhealthy status.

  • Receive email notification when the Skyline Collector requires an upgrade.

  • Opt-In or Opt-Out to sharing data relating to Secure Connect Gateway.

  • Link, or Unlink, Entitlement Accounts to/from the Cloud Services Organization.

  • Enable View Support Requests Raised by Team Members.

Both a Skyline Administrator and Skyline User can perform the following functions within Skyline Advisor Pro and Skyline Advisor:
  • View all details on the Dashboard.

  • View Collector Health details

  • View Inventory details

  • View Findings, Hidden Findings, and Upgrade Recommendations

    • Hide and UnHide Findings

    • Hide and UnHide Objects

  • Download Insights Reports and Operational Summary Report information (DOCX, ZIP)*

  • Initiate a Log Transfer using Log Assist

    • Approve, or Deny, a Log Transfer Request

  • View the Log Library

  • View Integrations
