With the release of Application Connectivity Monitor version 10.1, custom actions can be added to the system.

Although the built-in checks such as TCPConnectivityCheck supports all TCP applications, these checks are restricted to checking the port responsiveness.

The custom actions enable you to monitor software status and functionalities that are not possible with the standard checks. For example, you can customize the actions to verify login to a software service, check for a particular web servlet, or file.

In this release of Application Connectivity Monitor, you need not register the custom action. Upon startup, ACM processes the monitoring actions definition files (.xml files) located in the integration/custom directory tree.
