Messaging between the client and Domain Manager can be encrypted, by using the Perl API. Encryption is dependent upon the values set for the environment variables SM_INCOMING_PROTOCOL and SM_OUTGOING_PROTOCOL. If these values are not specified, encryption is automatically negotiated between the client and Domain Manager.
