The sm_service utility can be used to start and stop programs when necessary. However, the programs, which can be either manual processes or services, must be installed with sm_service before you can use this action.
To start a program, type the following command with administrative privileges:
sm_service start [options]
To stop a program, type the following command with administrative privileges:
sm_service stop [options]
