The default location of the Broker is specified at installation and stored in the SM_BROKER_DEFAULT environment variable.
There are two scenarios in which you may need to change the value of the environment variable after software is installed.
-
If during installation, the default Broker host and/or port settings were changed, but the typed values are incorrect.
-
If the Broker is automatically installed when you install an application or the adapters. Because only one Broker should be active on a network, the Broker on one of the hosts must be disabled, and the Broker environment variable on that host must point to the host where the Broker is running. This typically occurs when an application is installed on one host and the adapters are installed on a second host.
