Instrumentation parameters

For field certification of a new device, you also specify the instrumentation parameters that will enable the IP Manager to correctly monitor the device for connectivity and performance analysis.

If, for example, you want to monitor the CPU on a new Cisco router, look in the oid2type.conf or oid2type_Cisco.conf file for a Cisco router that is a variant of the new Cisco router, and then use the CPU/memory instrumentation for that router to monitor the CPU on the new router.
