To use the Import XML Configuration server tool to make a server tool available to console users, the XML file for the server tool must already exist. The simplest way to create the XML file is through the Global Manager Administration Console, as just described. You can also use one of the template XML files in the BASEDIR/smarts/conf/ics directory in the Global Manager installation area to create the XML file.

The XML file for the three LSP ping server tools, “LSP Ping,” “LSP Ping All,” and “VRF LSP Ping All,” is named lsp-ping-action.xml.

To import the lsp-ping-action.xml file into the Global Manager by using the Import XML Configuration server tool, follow the procedure given in “Enabling the use of MPLS remote ping and LSP ping server tools” on page 100.

Upon importing the lsp-ping-action.xml file into the Global Manager, the LSP ping server tools are available to console users. Console users that are already attached to the Global Manager must detach and reattach the Global Console to the Global Manager in order to see the LSP ping server tool options on the pop-up menu.

The VMware Smart Assurance Service Assurance Manager Configuration Guide provides more information about using the Import XML Configuration server tool to import XML files into the Global Manager repository.
