For an MPLS Topology Server, the autoconfiguration program loads the mpls.conf file into active memory, finds the names of the IP Availability Managers that are specified in the file, and adds the IP Availability Managers as topology sources to the MPLS Topology Server. The MPLS Topology Server responds by connecting to the IP Availability Manager sources and importing router topology.

The MPLS Topology Server creates an InChargeDomain object (INCHARGE-AM, for example) in its repository for each IP Availability Manager instance that is added as a topology source. Each object represents a connection between the MPLS Topology Server and an IP Availability Manager source.
