As described in the VMware Smart Assurance MPLS Management Suite User Guide, you can use topology maps to view graphical representations of the MPLS, VPN, and other topology that is imported by the Global Manager. By default, the display of these maps is disabled.

To enable the display of MPLS and other optional map types and to associate their functionality to user profiles:

  1. Attach the Global Manager Administration Console to the target Global Manager.

Instructions for opening the Global Manager Administration Console are presented in Chapter 4, “Opening the Global Console.”

  2. In the left panel of the Global Manager Administration Console, expand the configuration tree to display the User Profiles.

  3. Select a user profile (for example, admin-profile) to display its configuration window.

  4. In the configuration window, locate Console Operations and click its Modify List button to launch the Console Operations dialog box.

  5. In the Console Operations dialog box, expand the Map option and click the MPLS Connectivity checkbox.

  6. If MPLS-BGP cross-domain correlation is enabled, click the BGP Connectivity checkbox.

  7. If NG MVPNs are included in the managed environment, click the Multicast Connectivity checkbox.

  8. Click OK to close the Console Operations dialog box.

  9. In the configuration window, click Apply to save your configuration changes.

  10. Repeat Steps 3 through 10 to enable the display of MPLS and other optional map types for any other user profiles that need to see these maps.

  11. Detach and reattach the Global Console to the Global Manager in order to view the MPLS topology maps. Start by selecting Manager > Detach.
