For the Global Manager to import topology and events from the underlying components in an MPLS Manager deployment, you, as an administrator, must configure the Global Manager with the proper data exchange adapter (DXA) files. The Global Manager integrates and correlates the imported topology and events, and relates the data to services and customers.

You use the Global Console and the Global Manager to configure the DXA files. The VMware Smart Assurance Service Assurance Manager Configuration Guide provides detailed instructions on using the Global Console to complete Global Manager configurations.

If the MPLS-BGP cross-domain correlation feature is enabled in your deployment, refer to the VMware Smart Assurance Network Protocol Manager Configuration Guide for instructions on associating the underlying Network Protocol Manager for BGP with the proper DXA file in the Global Manager.

If the managed MPLS environment contains Next Generation Multicast VPNs (NG MVPNs) and draft-Rosen MVPNs, you should include an VMware Smart Assurance Multicast Manager in your deployment so that you can view the draft-Rosen MVPNs. MPLS Manager will discover the Juniper-based NG MVPNs and the multicast groups of the NG MVPNs, and Multicast Manager will discover the draft-Rosen MVPNs and the multicast groups of the draft-Rosen MVPNs. In addition, Multicast Manager will discover the multicast groups of the NG MVPNs. Refer to the VMware Smart Assurance Multicast Manager User Guide for instructions on associating the underlying Multicast Manager with the proper DXA file in the Global Manager.
