Network Protocol Manager for BGP creates a full adjacency between two peering BGP devices if both BGP protocol endpoints are discovered in the managed BGP topology. If only one BGP protocol endpoint is discovered in the managed BGP topology, Network Protocol Manager for BGP creates a stub adjacency between the two peering BGP devices. The presence of a gray router icon in a BGP Connectivity map indicates one or more stub adjacencies.
Displaying stub adjacencies enables a service provider to show a subscriber the status of that subscriber’s adjacency from the provider’s perspective.
