SNMP Trap Adapter

The SNMP Trap Adapter, which is part of the Service Assurance Manager, can be configured to forward traps, or can be configured to convert traps to VMware Smart Assurance notifications.

Two instances of the SNMP Trap Adapter appear in a Network Protocol Manager deployment:

• One instance, called a “trap exploder,” that is configured to forward traps

  Note:

  A trap exploder is also known as a “trap forwarder.”

• Another instance, called a “trap receiver,” that is configured to convert traps
