The VMware Smart Assurance IP Manager Certification Matrix identifies the certified devices for the IP Availability Manager in your Network Protocol Manager deployment. If your network contains certain managed devices that are not yet certified by VMware, Inc., you can add such devices to a field certification file so that IP Availability Manager will properly recognize them.
The field certification file, oid2type_Field.conf, is located in the BASEDIR/smarts/conf/discovery directory in the IP Manager installation area. The syntax of device entries in the oid2type_Field.conf file is described in the VMware Smart Assurance IP Manager documentation.
