Although Network Protocol Manager is able to discover multiple instances of a particular routing protocol that is running on a device, it does not represent each discovered instance as a separate service. Rather, Network Protocol Manager collectively represents the multiple instances as a single service. Thus:

  • Network Protocol Manager for BGP collectively represents all discovered instances of BGP that are running on a device as a single BGP service.

  • Network Protocol Manager for EIGRP collectively represents all discovered instances of EIGRP that are running on a device as a single EIGRP service.

  • Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS collectively represents all discovered instances of IS-IS that are running on a device as a single IS-IS service.

  • Network Protocol Manager for OSPF collectively represents all discovered instances of OSPF that are running on a device as a single OSPF service.
