An EIGRP protocol endpoint is a type of service access point that is defined for each EIGRP physical interface on the EIGRP device. An EIGRP protocol endpoint is a logical object that holds the status of a single EIGRP session from the point of view of one of the EIGRP physical interfaces.
An EIGRP session is a connection between the local EIGRP service that is running on the local device and a remote EIGRP service that is running on a remote device. The remote EIGRP service is also known as an EIGRP peer or an EIGRP neighbor.
