Mechanisms for assigning weights

Business Impact Manager uses the weights.conf file to assign weights to ICIM classes and instances (elements, objects). By default, Business Impact Manager assigns a weight of “1” for each managed infrastructure or business element in the ICIM_ManagedElement class. Therefore, if left at this default level, all impacted infrastructure, ServiceOffering, BusinessProcess, and ServiceSubscriber elements carry equal “weight” when determining an event’s impact.
