Understanding groups and settings

A group contains one or more settings, and a setting contains one or more parameters. Managed objects (systems discovered in the managed environment) become members of a group based on the matching criteria defined for the group.

• The VMware Smart Assurance ICIM core class for group (in the sense of "groups and settings") is ICIM_Configuration.

  

  This class is the parent of all group classes used by VoIP Availability Manager or any other VMware Smart Assurance Domain Manager.

• The ICIM core class for setting is ICIM_Setting. This class is the parent of all setting classes used by VoIP Availability Manager or any other VMware Smart Assurance Domain Manager.

• The ICIM core class for managed object is ICIM_ManagedElement. This class is the parent of all managed object classes used by VoIP Availability Manager or any other VMware Smart Assurance Domain Manager.
