Most of the configuration tasks for configuring the Global Manager in a VoIP Availability Manager deployment are accomplished using the Global Manager Administration Console. Global Manager Administration Console interaction with the Global Manager summarizes the Global Manager Administration Console interaction with the Global Manager.

As shown in Global Manager Administration Console interaction with the Global Manager, the initial default configurations for the Global Manager are defined in the ics-default.xml file which is used to create the initial Global Manager repository. The next time the Global Manager starts, it reads its configurations from the repository file.

Domain configuration objects and their relationships shows the relationships between Domain Group, Domain, Domain Type, and Domain Tag configuration objects. The intent of the Domain Group is to represent the server components of a split-server Domain Manager as a single entity. Doing so makes a split-server Domain Manager look just like a standalone Domain Manager to administrators and users.
