This document is part of the VMware Smart Assurance VoIP Management Suite documentation set. It is intended for operators receiving and acting upon Voice over IP (VoIP) notifications diagnosed by VMware Smart Assurance VoIP Availability Manager; by system administrators configuring and using VoIP Availability Manager; and by IT managers seeking to better understand the value of VoIP Availability Manager.

This document provides detailed information about viewing VoIP notifications and topology maps. VoIP Availability Manager, in conjunction with VMware Smart Assurance IP Availability Manager, gathers VoIP topology information, diagnoses VoIP connectivity failures, and exports its analysis results and topology to the VMware Smart Assurance Service Assurance Manager (Global Manager).

It is assumed that VoIP Availability Manager has been configured in accordance to the VMware Smart Assurance VoIP Availability Manager Configuration Guide and, if VoIP Performance Manager is integrated with VoIP Availability Manager, in accordance to the VMware Smart Assurance VoIP Management Suite Overview and Integration Guide. It is also assumed that discovery has been initiated in accordance to the VMware Smart Assurance VoIP Availability Manager Discovery Guide.
