In this document, the term:

  • VoIP application means an application that provides a Voice over IP (VoIP) end-user service; for example, voice mail.

  • VoIP network service means software that provides an essential VoIP network-connection service; for example, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) or Call Manager.

  • VoIP process means a process (software program running in memory) that is part of a VoIP application or network service; for example, ccm" and ctftp that are part of a Cisco CallManager network service.
