After importing the initial device topology from IP Availability Manager, VoIP Availability Manager uses SNMP and SOAP requests and CLI commands to query the devices for VoIP topology information.

  • SNMP requests apply to the Avaya Enablement Pack.

  • SNMP and SOAP requests apply to the Cisco Enablement Pack.

  • SNMP requests and CLI commands apply to the Nortel Enablement Pack.

For CLI discovery, VoIP Availability Manager logs in to managed Nortel Servers and issues CLI commands to query for the required information.

VoIP Availability Manager combines the discovered VoIP topology objects with the physical topology objects discovered by the IP Availability Manager to represent a complete model of the VoIP network.
