The discovery drivers in the VOIP.import file control the discovery. The drivers perform pre-processing tasks such as recording the time that discovery begins, launch the enablement pack probes, and perform post-processing tasks such as starting the built-in trap receiver.
If multiple enablement packs are installed, the main discovery driver launches the individual sets of enablement pack probes simultaneously. The enablement pack probes operate in parallel.
The VOIP.import file also contains drivers that control process-based discovery and index updating. Process discovery involves gathering information from a device’s Host Resources MIB.
