The Cisco ACI Virtual Machine Manager Domain enables administrator to configure network connectivity policies for virtual machine controllers. Smart Assurance supports VMM domain integration with VMware vCenter only and uses both IP Availability and Performance Manager and ESM manager to create end to end association between Cisco ACI fabric and VMware vCenter.

Smart Assurance IP Availability and Performance Manager discovers all the End Point Groups present in APIC. Smart Assurance ESM server discovers the VMware vCenter and creates EndPointGroup Contains VirtualMachine relationship. The ESM also creates VirtualMachines GroupedBy EndPointGroup reverse relationship.. The IP Availability and Performance Manager also shows the cable relationship between the Cisco ACI leaf node and ESX host.

To see the relationship between End Point Group and Virtual Machine:

  1. Discover Cisco ACI in IP Availability and Performance Manager.
  2. Discover VMware vCenter in IP and ESM.
  3. Discover ESX Server in IP Availability and Performance Manager in ICMPSNMP mode.
  4. Perform discover all in IP Availability and Performance Manager to see the cable connections between Cisco ACI Leaf Node and VMware ESX.
