KVM hypervisor and virtual machine monitoring

The Server Manager:

• Monitors the KVM hypervisor and virtual machine status by periodically polling the NOVA API in OpenStack.

• Generates notifications when:

  • A hypervisor is down.

  • A virtual machine is down or has been turned off.

• Monitors the Rabbit MQ (RMQ) status by the subscription mechanism or by using SNMP to monitor the RMQ process.

• Generates a Down notification when the service subscription is broken or the RMQ service stops.
