ScaleIO monitoring

The Server Manager:

• Monitors the ScaleIO status by periodically polling using the REST API. Below ScaleIO components are monitored through REST API:

  • DataStorageService (SDS)

  • StorageClientService (SDC)

  • PhysicalDisk ( Disk/Device)

  • StorageManagementService ( MDM)

  • StorageManagementServiceGroup ( MDM-Cluster)

  • StorageServiceGroup ( ProtectionDomain)

  • StoragePool ( Monitoring supported only for ScaleIO 2.0 version and above due to Alert API support added from ScaleIO 2.0 onwards)

• Generates notifications when:

  • A PhysicalDisk is down.

  • A ProtectionDomain is inactive.

  • A SDS/MDM/SDC is disconnected.
