Learn how to upgrade your VMware Tanzu Application Service for VMs [Windows] tile and update the Windows stemcell.

Caution If you are upgrading from v4.0.25 or v4.0.26 to a later patch version, upgrade TAS for VMs and apply those changes before you upgrade TAS for VMs [Windows]. Failure to upgrade TAS for VMs first will result in TCP route outages on TAS for VMs [Windows].

Rotating credentials

The VMware Tanzu Application Service for VMs (TAS for VMs) tile handles all of the credentials for TAS for VMs [Windows].

To rotate your credentials in TAS for VMs [Windows], you must redeploy TAS for VMs and TAS for VMs [Windows]. To re-deploy TAS for VMs and TAS for VMs [Windows]:

  1. Go to the VMware Tanzu Operations Manager Installation Dashboard.

  2. Click Review Pending Changes.

  3. Select the TAS for VMs and TAS for VMs [Windows] tiles and review the changes. For more information, see Reviewing pending product changes.

Upgrading TAS for VMs [Windows]

To upgrade TAS for VMs [Windows]:

  1. Download the latest TAS for VMs [Windows] version from the VMware Tanzu Application Service for VMs [Windows] page on Broadcom Support. For more information about upgrading your Operations Manager products, see Upgrading Operations Manager products in Upgrading TAS for VMs and Other Operations Manager Products.

  2. If necessary, configure the product. For more information about configuring TAS for VMs [Windows], see Installing and configuring TAS for VMs [Windows].

  3. Select the TAS for VMs [Windows] tile and review the changes. For more information, see Reviewing pending product changes.

  4. Click Apply Changes.

Upgrading the Windows stemcell

To upgrade your Windows stemcell:

  1. Retrieve the stemcell by following the steps for your IaaS (infrastructure as a service):

  2. Go to Stemcell Library.

  3. Click Import Stemcell to import the stemcell file.

  4. Select the Tanzu Operations Manager product check box to stage your stemcell.

  5. Click Apply Stemcell to Products.
