VMware Tanzu Observability Services Overview

Tanzu Observability services include curated dashboards for the open-source Prometheus and Grafana solutions and the sophisticated Tanzu Observability by Wavefront product.

Monitoring and Logging with Prometheus, Grafana, and Fluent-Bit

Tanzu Kubernetes Grid provides monitoring with the open-source Prometheus and Grafana services. You deploy these services on your cluster and can then take advantage of Grafana visualizations and dashboards. As part of the integration, you can set up Alertmanager to send alerts to Slack or use custom Webhooks alert notifications.

Monitoring and Alerting with Healthwatch

Healthwatch 2.0 (formerly Pivotal Healthwatch) supports out-of-the-box metrics monitoring and alerting for Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition and for Tanzu Application Service for VMs (TAS for VMs). Healthwatch helps operators monitor and understand the current health of the platform. The service tracks the recommended performance and scaling indicators for a given version of PCF.
