Update your AWS account credential for EKS cluster lifecycle management

Update an existing credential that allows Tanzu Platform to manage resources in your AWS account.

If your cluster indicates that its credential is no longer valid, you can apply a refreshed template.

Prerequisites

Log in to your AWS account.

Log in to Tanzu Platform.

Make sure you have the appropriate permissions to update a credential.

Procedure

  1. In Tanzu Platform hub, click to expand Setup & Configuration in the left navigation pane, and then click Credentials.

  2. On the Credentials page, click the details expander icon (>>) for the credential you want to update.

  3. In the details pane for the credential, click Update. When you click Next, Tanzu Platform generates a CloudFormation template that you can use to update the CloudFormation stack in your AWS account.

  4. Choose the method that you want to use to apply the update to your AWS CloudFormation stack, either the AWS CLI or the AWS console UI.

  5. Use the on-screen instructions to update the stack, and then click Validate. When you click Validate Tanzu Platform attempts to access the CloudFormation stack.

You might need to wait a few minutes before the stack is ready and Tanzu Platform can access your AWS account.
