The following requirements must be met to use VMware Project Keswick:

Keswick Host to be used at edge location

A Keswick host can be deployed to both a physical server as well as a virtual machine, running the Keswick host as a VM will enable testing and CI/CD pipelines before deploying to physical servers.

  • 4 CPU Cores

  • 16 GB RAM

  • 80 GB Hard Drive

  • 8 GB USB drive for initial provisioning of Physical Host or IPMI access to mount boot media.

  • Virtual Machine based deployment using:

    • VMware Workstation

    • VMware Fusion

    • VMware vSphere

Networking Requirements

  • DHCP Networking for IP Address allocation to Keswick host

  • Network routing to Git/Application Registry Servers from DHCP Network

Keswick Restrictions

You can use a deployed Keswick host for 60 days, after 60 days have passed, all advanced features are locked, running VMs continue to run but you cannot start powered off VMs.
