Downloading the Media

To deploy a VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator host, you must download the latest install media to your local computer.

1. Open the VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator Service.

2. Click Launchpad.

3. To select the media to download, click DOWNLOAD under Download the VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator image.

VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator Media Types

You must download the correct media for the type of deployment you plan to use for your edge server.

Media Type	Summary
IMG	Use this file to create a USB drive that can be booted from, the USB drive will install VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator on that server.
OVA	Use this file to deploy a pre-created VM for VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator on a hypervisor for testing, demo, or a CI-CD pipeline.
ISO	With this file you can boot from a CD-ROM drive or for IPMI/out of bands management virtual media device, or deploy virtual machines.
