Implications of Not Upgrading Add-ons in the Management Cluster

If the operators are not the latest versions, the corresponding Management cluster displays an error for upgrading the add-ons. To upgrade Management cluster add-ons individually, use the Upgrade Add-Ons option.

If you do not upgrade the add-ons of a Management cluster:

• Cannot perform operations on the Management cluster.
• Cannot perform operations on the workload cluster that uses management clusters with earlier add-ons.

Implications of Not Upgrading Add-ons in the Workload Cluster

If the operators are not the latest versions, the corresponding workload clusters display a warning for upgrading the add-ons. To upgrade workload cluster add-ons individually, use the Upgrade Add-Ons option.

If you do not upgrade the add-ons of workload cluster:

• Cannot add CSI.
• Cannot add CNI.
