You can scale up or scale down the number of Worker nodes in each node pool and add labels. If a network function with infrastructure requirements is running in this node pool, the scaling up operation automatically applies all the node customizations on the new nodes.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the VMware Telco Cloud Automation web interface.
  2. Go to Infrastructure > CaaS Infrastructure > Cluster Instances.
  3. Click the Options (⋮) symbol against the Kubernetes cluster that you want to edit.
  4. Click Edit Worker Node Configuration.
  5. To edit a node pool, select the node pool from the Worker Nodes tab, and click Edit.
  6. Modify the value of Replicas to scale down or scale up the Worker nodes. You can also add labels and use these labels as node selectors when instantiating the Network Functions.
  7. To enable Machine Health Check, select Configure Machine Health Check. For more information, see Machine Health Check.
  8. Under Advanced Configuration, you can configure the Node Start Up Timeout duration and set the unhealthy conditions.
    1. (Optional) Enter the Node Start Up Timeout time duration for Machine Health Check to wait for a node to join the cluster. If a node does not join during the specified time, Machine Health Check considers it unhealthy.
    2. Set unhealthy conditions for the nodes. If any of these conditions are met, Machine Health Check considers these nodes as unhealthy and starts the remediation process.
  9. Click Update.
