The CaaS infrastructure API version is upgraded to version 2 (v2).

With this upgrade, users now have better control over cluster failures. You can now view the status of all the components at a granular level and act on a failure while the cluster creation is in progress. Also, during the cluster creation process, you can edit or delete a node pool or an add-on at any point if there is an error.

For example, if an add-on IP address is incorrect, you can view the error immediately, edit the IP address, and provide the correct one while the cluster creation is in progress. Even though VMware Telco Cloud Automation is deprecating v1 clusters, you can still perform cluster life-cycle operations on v1 clusters using the new user interface. However, to access the new features of the v2 user interface such as granular updates, new add-ons, stretched clusters, and so on, you must transform your clusters to V2 APIs. You can transform v1 Workload clusters to v2 Workload clusters using the Transform Cluster option in the VMware Telco Cloud Automation UI. For more information about transforming a v1 Workload cluster to v2 Workload cluster, see #GUID-9C015838-4789-47AE-9542-375A3F779902.

Note:

For this release, you cannot deploy a v2 Management cluster or perform any v2 life-cycle management operations on Management clusters.

The CaaS Infrastructure Dashboard

The CaaS Infrastructure dashboard provides a new listing page where you can view the v1 and v2 clusters and the status of their control planes, node pools, and add-ons. You can drill down on each of the clusters and view further details.
