Telco Cloud Automation 3.1 enables users to run diagnosis checks during the 5G TKG cluster upgrade, and subsequently view and download the diagnosis report.

Procedure

  1. In the Cluster Instances tab of CaaS Infrastructure, click on the menu of the workload or the management cluster on which you want to run a diagnosis.
  2. Select Run Diagnosis from the pop-up menu to initiate diagnosis.

The Run Diagnosis tab is displayed.

  3. Under Advanced diagnosis settings, choose Type based on the need to run a Generic diagnosis or an Upgrade diagnosis. For CaaS upgrade prevalidation check, choose Upgrade Diagnosis.

Based on the selection, the relevant Case Selectors are listed.

  4. Select Case Selectors from the dropdown. This step is optional for running a Generic Diagnosis.
  5. Click Start Diagnosis.
    Note:

Once the diagnosis is initiated, relevant Diagnosis APIs are invoked based on the type of diagnosis.

For Generic Diagnosis, legacy TCA Diagnosis APIs are invoked. However, for Upgrade Diagnosis, new Diagnosis Control Plane APIs are invoked.

  6. Once the diagnosis is complete, navigate to the Diagnosis tab of the cluster details to view or download the results.
Note: You can also click on the cluster in the CaaS Infrastructure tab to view the cluster overview. Navigate to the Diagnosis tab and click Run Diagnosis to initiate diagnosis after selecting type in the left pane.
  7. Click Download to download the diagnosis report in JSON format.
  8. (Optional) Pre-validate Management Clusters, created on TCA 3.0 and upgraded to 3.1 that are not upgraded to the next kubernetes version (1.27.1+vmware.1) and cannot run pre-upgrade diagnosis, by running a Generic Cluster diagnosis. Do not select any caseselector from the Generic Diagnosis tab.
Note: This diagnosis checks the overall Cluster health, including the pre-checks for Upgrade. Based on this report, you can perform the Upgrades.
