You can upgrade the VMware Telco Cloud Automation or VMware Telco Cloud Automation Control Plane appliances using the upgrade bundle.

Note: The option to upgrade VMware Telco Cloud Automation using the upgrade bundle is only available for VM-based VMware Telco Cloud Automation.

Procedure

  1. Browse to support.broadcom.com.
  2. Login using your Broadcom credentials.
  3. Ensure that you select the Software Defined Edge group in the drop down on the top right.
  4. Browse to My Downloads > VMware Telco Cloud Automation.
  5. Expand the VMware Telco Cloud Automation row by clicking on it.
  6. Select the appropriate release number.
  7. Read through and agree to the Broadcom Terms and Conditions.
  8. Download the appropriate VMware Telco Cloud Automation Upgrade Bundle.
  9. Save the upgrade bundle in a jump host and ensure that the jump host can access the appliance to be upgraded.
  10. Log in to the Appliance Management interface through FQDN. For example, https://tca-cp-ip-or-fqdn:9443.
  11. Click Administration > Upgrade.
    On the Upgrade page, details about the current installed version, upgrade date, and upgrade state are displayed.
  12. Click Upgrade.
  13. Choose the ISO upgrade bundle and click Continue.
  14. After the upgrade is completed, Reboot button will be shown on UI.
  15. Click Reboot (This will perform the post upgrade operations and reboot the VM).
  16. After few mins, when the Appliance Management is up, login again and check the status of the TCA on the appliance management dashboard <TCA Status: Ready> when all the services are up and ready. Else it will show the services status.

The appliance upgrades to a newer version.
