You can scale up or scale down the number of nodes for a cluster. You can also configure the Machine Health Check for these nodes.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the VMware Telco Cloud Automation web interface.
  2. Navigate to Infrastructure > CaaS Infrastructure > Cluster Instances.
  3. Click corresponding to the management cluster that you want to edit and select Edit Worker Node Configuration.
  4. Select the node pool that you want to edit and click Edit.
  5. Modify the value of Replicas to scale down or scale up the node pool.
  6. To activate the machine health check, select Configure Machine Health Check. For more information, see #GUID-13576AFF-218B-468A-83DE-39F7B705141D.

    By default, the Machine Health Check controller is deactivated.

  7. Under Advanced Configuration, you can configure the Node Start Up Timeout duration and set the unhealthy conditions.
    1. Node Start Up Timeout- (Optional) Enter the time duration for Machine Health Check to wait for the node to join the cluster. If the node does not join within the specified time, Machine Health Check considers it unhealthy.
    2. Node Unhealthy Conditions - Set unhealthy conditions for the nodes. If any of these conditions are met, Machine Health Check considers these nodes as unhealthy and starts the remediation process.
  8. Click UPDATE.
