You can create one or more IP Address Management (IPAM) IPv4 address pools to deploy and manage the workload clusters. When creating a workload cluster, you can choose the network name and IP pool defined for the respective management cluster.

You can edit the IP pools to extend, shrink, or change the IP address.
Note: The IP pools are applicable for classy standard cluster.

Prerequisites

Ensure the following:
  • IP pool ranges should not overlap with the address pools defined in the DHCP service if the DHCP server exists for the same subnet.
  • When two IP pools overlap and you create two workload clusters with the overlapped IP pools, it causes failures.
  • The IP family of the gateway and each IP address should be consistent. The IP address that you provide should not belong to a different subnet.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the VMware Telco Cloud Automation web interface.
  2. Go to Infrastructure > CaaS Infrastructure > Cluster Instances.
  3. Click the management cluster to which you want to add the IP pool.
  4. Click IP Pools > Add.
  5. In the Add IP Pool window, enter the following information:
    1. Name: A name for the IP pool.
    2. Gateway IP: The gateway IP address.
    3. Prefix: A prefix to identify the network.
    4. Addresses: A single IP address or an IP range.
  6. Click Add.
The IP pool is available under the IP Pools tab. You can click View More Details to view details such as specs, status, conditions, total number of IPs, number of used IPs, Names of the VMs that use the IPs and so on.

What to do next

You can edit or delete the IP pools.
    • To edit an IP pool, click the vertical ellipse corresponding to the IP pool you want to edit and click Edit.
    • To delete an IP pool, click the vertical ellipse corresponding to the IP pool you want to delete and click Delete.
      Note:
