If you have ACC100 device configured using TCA hostprofile in TCA 3.0 and prior releases, perform the following steps after upgrading to TCA to 3.1 and ESX to 8.0U2 for ACC100 to work with new Intel vRAN Baseband Driver and Tools for VMware ESXi 2.1.0.
Prerequisites
Before upgrading the ESXi host to 8.0 U2, upgrade the TCA appliance to 3.1 or prior. Also, ensure that the host is in Maintenance Mode before performing this operation.
Procedure
- Download new Intel vRAN Baseband Driver and Tools for VMware ESXi 2.1.0 driver released by intel for ESX 8.0U1 and above from Intel® vRAN Baseband Driver and Tools for VMware ESXi*.
- Install the driver by running command:
esxcli software component apply -d /tmp/*Intel-vran*.zip
- With the Intel Accelerator driver version 2.1.0, Intel validates if the number of SR-IOV VFs specified in Host Profile for Accelerator card are equal to num_vf_bundles parameter specified in the accelerator configuration file. If it does not match, an error is displayed while applying accelerator configuration failing the Host Profile operation.
In earlier versions of Intel Accelerator drivers, if the above parameters did not match, it used to apply the minimum of two and Host Profile operation which did not fail.
- Perform a full-resync on the cell site host configured with Accelerator using ZTP UI/API.
