VMware Telco Cloud Automation system relies on external repositories for OS packages and container images. In an internet restricted environment, external repositories can not be accessed directly by the TCA system.
The Airgap Respository Service is a mirror of external repositories. It is deployed in the internet restricted environment and serves TCA system with artifacts pulling and downloading which is illustrated as follows:
VMware Telco Cloud Automation provides an OVA for users to deploy airgap repository appliances with web service, harbor, system, and data management tools built in.
The OVA is not shipped with the artifacts, so you need to build them up with the embedded tool inside the OVA after deploying or upgrading it. After the required artifacts are ready, you can move the appliance to the target environment and customize its networking configuration to serve for the artifacts pulling requests from the TCA system.
