This section describes how to upgrade VMware Cloud Director from 9.7.0.3 to 10.1.2.
Prerequisites
Verify that you have superuser credentials for the servers in your VMware Cloud Director server group.
Verify that the VMware Cloud Director database, vSphere components, and the NSX components are compatible with the new version of VMware Cloud Director.
Verify that all ESXi hosts are activated. Starting with VMware Cloud Director 9.5, deactivated ESXi hosts are unsupported.
Take a backup or snapshot of the VMware Cloud Director cells.
Back up your existing database before you upgrade it. Use the backup procedure that your database software vendor recommends.
