Configure storage resources for hosting VM data, ISO images, and templates of workloads.

Procedure

  1. In case of vSAN, configure all physical hosts in the pass-through RAID mode (without the RAID configuration).
  2. Configure storage:

    • If you want to use vSAN, ensure that the physical hosts have supported HDD and SSD drives.

    • After installing ESXi on a host, you can use NFS for the initial installation of the management vCenter Server instance. Create a VMkernel adapter for NFS and mount the NFS share using that adapter.
