Install and Configure ESXi Hosts for Resource and Edge Pod Configuration

Install the ESXi hypervisor on the physical servers that you use for the Edge and Resource Pods.

Prerequisites

Verify that the FQDNs of the hosts are resolvable.

Caution:

To deploy ESXi 7.0 U3m (express patch) in Telco Cloud Infrastructure Cloud Director Edition 2.7, you must first install ESXi 7.0 U3i using the ISO image and then update ESXi 7.0 U3i to ESXi 7.0 U3m using vSphere Lifecycle Manager.

Procedure

1. Install the following Resource Pod hosts on the USB or Flash drive. For the ESXi installation procedure, see Installing and Setting Up ESXi.

   • ESXi_RES_01

   • ESXi_RES_02

   • ESXi_RES_03

   • ESXi_RES_04

2. Install the following Edge Pod hosts on the USB or Flash drive:

   • ESXi_EDGE_01

   • ESXi_EDGE_02

   • ESXi_EDGE_03

   • ESXi_EDGE_04

3. Configure the networking with the IP address, Netmask, Gateway, DNS, and host FQDN.
4. Configure and synchronize NTP with ESXi hosts.
