Install and Configure ESXi Hosts for Resource and Edge Pod Configuration

Install the ESXi hypervisor on the physical servers that you use for the Edge and Resource Pods.

Prerequisites

Verify that the FQDNs of the hosts are resolvable.

Procedure

1. Install the following Resource Pod hosts on a local disk of 128 GB or larger for optimal support of ESX-OSData. The use of Legacy SD and USB devices for ESX-OSData partitions is being deprecated. For the ESXi installation procedure, see Installing and Setting Up ESXi.

   • ESXi_RES_01

   • ESXi_RES_02

   • ESXi_RES_03

2. Configure the networking with the IP address, Netmask, Gateway, DNS, and host FQDN.
3. Configure and synchronize NTP with ESXi hosts.
